Pavie Decesse 2016 has been released at €96 per bottle ex-negociant, up 6.5% on the 2015 release price of €90. It is being offered by UK merchants for £1,100 per 12×75, a 14.6% increase in Sterling terms on the 2015 release of £960.
Critical reception for Pavie Decesse 2016 has been mixed. James Suckling awarded the wine 98-99 points and said it has “beautiful presence and finesse… perhaps better than the superb 2015.” Neal Martin who scored the wine lower, at 92-94 points, commented that Pavie Decesse was “atypical for the vintage, hedonistic and creamy in texture. Go for this if you seek fruit and concentration in 2016.”
Prices for Pavie Decesse are closely correlated to critic scores (Wine Advocate). On this basis the chart below shows that the current release is around 37.5% higher than the ‘fair value’ trend line. Buyers looking for value might be interested in the 2012, which scored a higher 95 points and is available below fair value.
