As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Haut-Bages Libéral 2022 has been released at €32.50 per bottle ex-négociant, up 23.1% on the 2021 release (€26.40).
It is being offered by the international trade for £402 per 12×75, a 24.1% increase on the 2021’s opening price (£324 a case).

Critics’ scores
Neal Martin (Vinous) scored the wine a barrel range of 94-96 points. He noted that ‘yields were 45L/ha higher than many other estates’ and concluded that ‘this is an outstanding, vivacious 2022 from proprietor Claire Villars-Lurton’.
‘Exciting to taste,’ wrote James Suckling, who awarded the ‘lively and energetic’ wine a barrel range of 96-97.
Jeff Leve (Wine Cellar Insider) celebrated the ‘fresh, bright, soft, energetic’ wine, scoring it 93-95 points.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) gave it a range of 93-96, writing that the ‘2022 Haut-Bages Libéral is shaping up to be a jewel’ that is ‘beautifully put together.’
