We recently caught up with Jane Anson, author of Inside Bordeaux and founder of jananson.com, to talk about the Bordeaux 2021 vintage.
She said it had been an ‘interesting’ vintage but not always the easiest to taste because of the stylistic differences across the region.
The 2021 vintage brought an entirely different set of challenges to 2018, 2019 and 2020 but Anson explained it had been interesting to see how each estate reacted.
She said it was a vintage where money but also teamwork helped greatly, and the latter was not always an advantage exclusively enjoyed by the bigger, wealthier estates.
She also pointed to Saint-Estèphe as an appellation which performed well in her view.
There are currently over 5,500 LIVE opportunities for Bordeaux on the exchange.
