The leading Spanish regions and brands
Secondary market trade for Spain is led by Ribera del Duero (61.0%), home to the most traded Spanish wine brands – Vega Sicilia and Pingus.
With 20.7% of trade, Rioja is the second most important region, thanks to activity for the wines of La Rioja Alta, Artadi, Marqués de Murrieta and Muga.
Other regions now increasingly attracting demand are Priorat (4.1%), Toro (1.8%), and Mentrida (0.5%). Historic vintages of Toro Albala’s Pedro Ximenez are also driving Montilla-Moriles’ exposure on the secondary market.
