The 2020 Pavie Macquin has been released for €57.6 per bottle ex-négociant, up 23.1% on the 2019 release.
The international trade is offering the wine for £690 per 12×75, 21.1% more than the current Market Price of the 2019.
Critical opinion
Neal Martin awarded the wine 91-93 points. He said the wine is, “certainly one of the most exotic wines from the estate in recent years”.
Antonio Galloni was high in praise and gave 95-98 points. He said: “It is one of the most alluring and complete recent vintages I can remember tasting.”
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW called it, “a real head-turner!” and awarded 96-98 points.
Fair Value
Based on Benchmark Critic scores, the 2018 and 2019 vintage appear to present value.
Those looking for wines with additional bottle age may look towards the slightly higher scored 2006 and 2012 vintages, which are available at a 7.2% and 32.2% discount to today’s release, respectively.
