Critical opinion
Neither Martin nor Antonio Galloni at Vinous have yet tasted the wine but it has picked up positive reviews elsewhere.
Jane Anson rated it 95-points and said it had “purity and definition… with clarity of flavour”. In what she has said is a weaker year for second wines this is a “standout success”.
James Suckling scored it 94-95, saying it was “fine and intense”, while Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW rated it rather lower, 89-91.
Fair Value
According to the Fair Value methodology, the 2020 looks good value when compared against its back vintages. A score of 94 or 95 from Martin would make it look truly compelling.
The 2019 with a score of 94-96 from Martin and 10% cheaper is the clear alternative choice to today’s release. The 2017 at £293 per dozen also looks good value among recent physical vintages.
