Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2019 has been released at €78 per bottle ex-négociant, down 13.3% on the 2018 release (€90). The wine is being offered by the international trade at £986 per 12×75, a 10.4% decrease on the 2018 opening of £1100 per case.
Neal Martin of Vinous awarded the wine 94-96 points. Antonio Galloni gave a 95-97, adding, “the 2019 Beausejour Heritiers Duffau-Lagarrosse is shaping up to be magnificent. A wine of tremendous breadth and power, the 2019 has so much to offer”.
James Suckling awarded a 95-96. Jane Anson a 98. Jeb Dunnuck a 95-97, reminding him of the 2012. Lisa Perrotti-Brown a 96-98 and noted, “about 200 cases are anticipated to be made”.
Prices for Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse have an 89% correlation with ‘Benchmark Critic’ scores.
Today’s release comes to the market slightly below the comparably scored 2016. Buyers looking for value may consider 2011 and 2012 which are just a point shy of the newest release but offered at a 48% and 42% discount, respectively.
