Malartic Lagravière 2019 was released at €26.4 per bottle ex-négociant, down 24.1% on the 2018 release price (€34.8). The wine is being offered at £330 per 12×75, a 21.4% discount from the 2018 release price of £420 a case.
James Suckling awarded the wine 95-96 points and asked if the 2019 was potentially “another 2016?”. Jane Anson continued the praise, awarding 95 points exclaiming, Malartic Lagravière is “an estate that has become a serious heavyweight in the appellation”. Jeff Leve was also in support, awarding 94-96 points. However, Jean Marc-Quarin, awarded just 90 points, saying “It’s very good, but the power is lacking.”

For the top vintages, Malartic Lagravière prices sit in the £400-500 range. Both 2012 and 2015 are similarly scored but can be bought for £350. If one puts aside the score from Jean Marc-Quarin and assumes Neal Martin will be more aligned to the other critics mentioned above, 2019 looks to nestle nicely amongst these vintages offering value for money.
