Sena 2017 has been released at €80 per bottle ex-negociant, down 4% on the 2016 release (€84). It is being offered by the trade for £996 per 12×75, a 7% decrease on the 2016’s opening price per case (£1,070).
Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate) scored the wine 96+ points. In his tasting note, he commented that this “is a more serious vintage with good concentration and weight”.
James Suckling scored the wine a slightly higher 99 points and said it was a “fresh and energetic wine in a hot year”.
Today’s release is coming to the market above most recent vintages currently available. Buyers looking for other options may want to consider the 97-point 2016. In his tasting note, Gutiérrez said that it “could very well be the finest wine produced at this estate”. It is also available at an 11% discount to today’s release.
