Following from our introduction to the critics’ choice ranking published yesterday, the top-rated wines have now been revealed.
Latour 2018 is in the top spot – it is the #1 scoring wine for five of the 14 critics on our critic scores grid. It received 100 points from Jean-Marc Quarin, a barrel range of 99-100 from James Suckling and 98-100 from both Jeb Dunnuck and Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Advocate). It is also among Antonio Galloni’s top-scoring wines (96-99).
The recently released Lafleur follows in second place. “The wine of the vintage”, according to Jeff Leve, it also boasts the perfect 100 points from Suckling and 97-100 from Gavin Quinney.
Leoville Las Cases – another one of Suckling’s favourites – occupies the third spot, with an average critics’ rank of 4.86.
