Ormes Pez 2018 has been released at €21 per bottle ex-negociant, up 9.3% on the 2017 (€19.20). It is expected to be offered by the international trade for £250 per 12×75, up 8% on the 2017 release of £230 per case.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) scored the wine 89-91 points and described it as “decidedly opulent”. Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate) said that it “leaps from the glass” and awarded a range of 90-92 points. James Suckling added that there was “lots of purple fruit at the end” and gave it 93-94 points.
Once again, buyers may want to consider the 2016 vintage as an alternative. It was scored 92 points by Neal Martin and is available at a slight discount to today’s release.
