By May 2, 2019Bordeaux 2018

Gazin 2018 has been released at €62.40 per bottle ex-negociant, up 8.3% on the 2017 (€57.60). It is being offered by the international trade for £756 per 12×75, up 7.2% on the 2017 release price (£705).

Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate) scored the wine 91-93 points. In her tasting note she said it was “full, muscular and chewy in the mouth, it has loads of earthy layers and a dried herbs lift on the finish”.

James Suckling awarded the wine a barrel range of 94-95 points and said it was “very tight and polished with a compact and beautiful palate of blackberries, currants and black olives”.

Roger Voss (Wine Enthusiast) added that “the wine is sure to age well” and scored it 94-96 points.

Prices for Gazin are 74% correlated to critic scores. Based on today’s release price of £756 per 12×75, the wine is coming to market above the line implied by our ‘fair value’ methodology.

Buyers looking for other options may wish to consider the 2015 and 2012 vintages, which were both scored 95 points by Neal Martin and are available at 22% and 25% discounts respectively.
