- Lafleur 2014 most active wine
- Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage Chapelle 2017 and Promontory 2013 released
- Liv-ex March Market Report
In the first week of March activity went up by both value and volume. Still, Bordeaux’s trade share by value dipped to 53.8%. The Liv-ex 50, which tracks the price performance of the First Growths, fell by 0.1%. The broader Fine Wine indices, the Liv-ex 100 and Liv-ex 1000, also finished February with small declines.
Burgundy and Italy pulled back to 11.6% and 8.4% respectively, while Champagne’s trade share rose to 15.5% – a recent high. It was helped by solid trading of Bollinger, Krug and Louis Roederer.
The USA also improved, driven by a very active Promontory and its newly released vintage. The “spectacular” 2013 (RP 99) was released earlier this week at £6,360 per 12×75.
Lafleur 2014 led Bordeaux trade this week and traded at £4,908 per 12×75, up 41% on its release price. It was followed by Le Pin 2015, with a last trade at £32,376, which represents an increase of 80% since release.
Two 2009 vintages were also very active – Mouton Rothschild and Pichon Baron. As part of a series on Bordeaux ten years on, you can read our analysis on their price variations since release here.
Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage Chapelle 2017 released
Last week, Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage Chapelle 2017 was released in the UK at £1,390 per 12×75. Jeb Dunnuck awarded the wine a barrel range of 95-97 points, describing it as “incredibly sexy”, “with a flamboyant style”.
