The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 Index closed June on 316.62, up 1.13% on the previous month, the sharpest monthly rise since November 2017. The index lagged behind in the first quarter but has now posted three months of consecutive gains.
Sassicaia 2009 was June’s top riser, gaining 10.5%. Three Robert Parker 100 point wines, Latour 2009, Ducru Beaucaillou 2009 and Petrus 2010, also saw their mid-prices move upwards in June.
Prices for DRC Romanee Conti and Armand Rousseau Chambertin have been volatile for a while. In June, the 2012 vintages of both wines dropped 3.1% and 4% respectively.
