The Liv-ex 1000 – the broadest measure of the market – gained 1% in October to close on 324.47. This is a record high for the index.
All of the sub-indices made gains last month, but the Burgundy 150 was the most impressive riser. It moved up 2.5%, continuing the trend of rapidly rising prices for top wines from the region. It remains the top performer over one year, as the chart below shows. The Rest of the World 50 index also posted strong gains of 1.6%.
The Rhone 100 Index was the slowest mover, inching up just 0.1%.
