The Liv-ex Claret Chip Index edged lower last week amid further Bordeaux price falls. The index closed at 355.32 on Friday – down 2.74 points, or -0.76 per cent, on the previous week.
After showing considerable weakness earlier this month, Lafite 2000 regained its footing and climbed 3.05 per cent to £16,900 per case. Margaux 2003 also made a small recovery and rose from £4,950 to £5,075. First Growth losses, however, outweighed the gains, with Latour 2008 and Mouton 1998 dropping 9.08 per cent and 7.79 per cent respectively.
