Critical response
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) has called the 2022 Galatrona ‘another super-attractive wine from Petrolo. It offers lovely up-front appeal to match its easygoing personality…The 2022 naturally does not have the structure or depth of the top years, but that simply was not possible in this vintage’. He gave the 2022 a score of 94, putting it at the same level as the 2016 and 2017.

At this release price, buyers are likely to turn to options in back vintages. The 2018, 2019 2020 and 2021 vintages all received significantly higher scores from Vinous and are available at a discount to the 2022. Of these, the 98-point 2020 offers up the best value. At a Market Price of £556, it comes in at a 27.8% discount to today’s release.
