Critical response

William Kelley (The Wine Advocate) awarded the wine a score of 95-97 points, describing the wine as ‘textural and mouth filling’.

Neal Martin (Vinous) gave the wine a score of 95-97 points. According to him, ‘the 2023 has a very well-defined and focused bouquet with pure blackberry, raspberry, ground chalk and light sea cave scents’.

James Lawther MW (Jancis Robinson) gave the wine a score of 17/20 points, praising its ‘complex nose with a stony-mineral edge’ and ‘refreshing saline finish’.

‘The 2023 Troplong Mondot is simply stunning’, said Antonio Galloni (Vinous), awarding the wine a score of 95-98 points. He adds that ‘the combination of soaring aromatics, chiseled fruit and limestone-infused finish is nothing less than captivating’.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) awarded the wine a score range of 96-98 points. She describes ‘gorgeous notes of mulberries, wild blueberries, and redcurrant jelly slowly begin to emerge, followed by hints of sassafras, mossy tree bark, and graphite, plus wafts of rose oil and cumin seed’.
