As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château La Lagune 2023 has been released at €25.50 per bottle ex-négociant, down 25% on the 2022 release (€34 per bottle).
It is being offered by the international trade for £330 per 12×75, down 23.6% on the 2022’s opening price (£432 per 12×75).

Critical response
Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the wine a barrel range of 92-94 points, adding that it is ‘going to need time to come together’.
Describing the wine as an ‘excellent rendition of this terroir’, Yohan Castaing (Wine Advocate) gave it a score range of 90-92 points.
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) describes notes of ‘fresh, juicy plums, black cherries, and redcurrants, leading to hints of wild thyme, black olives, and damp soil’, scoring the wine 88-90+ points.
Jane Anson gave a score of 93 points, praising a ‘confident tannic architecture’ and ‘an expansive but controlled delivery of textured autumnal fruit’.
Château La Lagune 2023 pricing analysis
While today’s release price is lower than last year’s, there are options in back-vintages that may look better value to buyers.
The 95-point 2019 vintage, Neal Martin’s highest-rated in the past decade, is currently available at a slight discount to today’s release. It last traded at £300 per case, matching its original release price.
Alternatively, the lower-rated 2020 vintage is available for £270 per 12×75.
