As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Haut-Brion Blanc 2023 has been released at €540 per bottle ex-négociant, down 10.0% on the 2022 release (€600).
It is being offered by the international trade for £6,540 per 12×75, a decrease of 9.2% on the 2022’s opening price (£7,200 per 12×75).
The new release is one of the cheapest and highest scoring Haut-Brion Blancs of the last decade. However, buyers looking for more opportunities do have options among back vintages. See more pricing analysis below.
Critical Response
Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the 2023 Château Haut-Brion Blanc a barrel score of 95-97 points, one of his highest of the past decade. He called the wine ‘poised and focused’ and praised its ‘irresistible texture’.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) called the wine ‘quiet and restrained’, scoring it 93-96 points. He noted that it ‘grows over time, hinting at an exceptionally brilliant future’.
Jane Anson awarded a score of 98 points – her joint-highest scoring white wine of the 2023 vintage. She said that it ‘captures the contrasting freshness and intensity of a great white wine’.
Yohan Castaing (The Wine Advocate) called the wine ‘a bit shy’, but complimented its ‘dense and fleshy palate’, giving a score of 93-94 points.

Pricing analysis
Today’s release is one of the cheapest vintages of Haut-Brion Blanc on the market. For those interested in back vintages, there are some other options.
The 2019 boasts 96 points from Martin, as well as 97 points from Lisa Perroti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) and is currently available at a slight premium to today’s release with a Market Price of £6,900.
For buyers looking for opportunities in older vintages, the 2013 may be an attractive option. It received 95 points from Neal Martin and will, according to the critic, ‘provide two or three decades of drinking pleasure’.
