As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Gazin 2023 has been released at €48 per bottle ex-négociant, down 27.3% on the 2022 release (€66 per bottle).
It is being offered by the international trade for £582 per 12×75, a 26.8% decrease on the 2022’s opening price (£795 a case).

Critical Response
Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the wine a barrel range of 91-93 points, saying that it is ‘maybe not a long term Gazin but it has an air of sophistication’.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) gave 91-93 points saying of the wine, it is ‘deep, layered and exceptionally well balance’.
James Lawther MW (Jancis Robinson) praised the wine’s ‘fine and integrated’ tannins, scoring it 16.5 out of 20.
William Kelley (The Wine Advocate) gave the wine 88-90 points. The critic describes ‘aromas of dark berries, cassis and cherries’.
Pricing analysis
While today’s release comes at a discount to last year’s, it remains more expensive than other vintages available on the market. Buyers interested in back-vintage opportunities have comparable options.
Both Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW and Jane Anson awarded their highest scores of the decade, 95 points, to the 2020 vintage. Available at a 5.5% discount to the 2023, it may present reasonable value to buyers.
Fans of Neal Martin may opt for the 2019 vintage. The critic gave the wine a score of 97 points. At a Market Price of £606, it is available at a 4.1% premium to today’s release.
Those looking for options in earlier vintages might consider the 93-point 2015. It currently has a Market Price of £590, a slight premium to today’s release.
