William Kelley (Wine Advocate) gave the wine a range of 93-95, calling the 2022 La Lagune ‘a modern-day version of the lovely 1990.’
Fair Value analysis
According to the Liv-ex ‘Fair Value’ methodology, La Lagune’s best correlation is with age rather than score (63%).
This means that vintages of La Lagune rise in value with age, making younger vintages a good buying opportunity.
According to the Fair Value chart, the 2020 might be of interest. It sits below the Fair Value line and is available at a discount of 30.8% to today’s release.
The 2017 vintage might also be interesting: was scored 91 points by Neal Martin and is available at a discount of 27.1% to the 2022.
While the 2019 sits slightly above the Fair Value line, it is available at a discount of 22.2% to today’s release with a score of 95 points. Neal Martin describes it as ‘wonderful’ and questions if it could ‘be the best La Lagune in years’.
