As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Batailley 2022 has been released at €29.50 per bottle ex-négociant, up 11.3% on the 2021 release (€26.50).
It is being offered by the international trade for £372 per 12×75 a 12.7% increase on the 2021’s opening price (£330 per 12×75).
This year’s vintage comes in a special engraved bottle to commemorate the life of Elizabeth II as Batailley 1947 was served at her silver wedding anniversary.

Critics’ scores
Neal Martin (Vinous) released his Bordeaux 2022 scores yesterday, but he has not scored Batailley this year.
William Kelley (Wine Advocate) awarded the wine a barrel range of 91-93 points, noting that it was ‘an especially strong effort for this estate’.
Fair Value analysis
At £372 per 12×75 for the new release, buyers looking for value might want to consider back vintages of Batailley.
The 2021 vintage, which is available at £330 per 12×75, also offers relative value for money and was rated 92-94 points from Neal Martin (Vinous). The 2020 was rated 93 points and has a Market Price of £334, a 10.2% discount to today’s release.
The 2019 also looks attractive. It is the highest-scored Batailley of the past ten vintages with 94 points from Martin and is available at a 7.5% premium to today’s release (£400 per 12×75).
