Critical response
Erin Larkin (The Wine Advocate) gave the 2019 a score of 97+ points. She said it was ‘aromatically reticent’ but with a power in the mouth that was ‘unassailable’. She added it was ‘pure, but far too young right now’.
Josh Raynolds, writing for Vinous, gave it 95-points and Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) scored it 93-points.
Fair Value
The new release compares favourably with the limited number of back vintages currently in the market.
The 2018 vintage is available for marginally less (£1,450 per 12×75) but it has a lower Wine Advocate score of 96-points.
By comparison, the equally-scored 2016 (97-points) has a Market Price of £1,962 per 12×75.
