As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Petit-Village 2021 has been released at €86.40 per bottle ex-négociant, down 4% on the 2020’s opening price.

Critics’ scores
Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded today’s release a barrel range of 91-93 points. He said that it ‘demonstrates fine focus’.
Antonio Galloni (Vinous) gave it 90-92 points and called it ‘a pretty supply wine with lovely fruit purity and terrific balance’.
William Kelley (The Wine Advocate) also scored it 90-92. He observed: ‘The fruit of a rigorous selection, I appreciate all the hard work that’s going here, but I wonder if a gentler touch with extraction might have delivered something more sensual’.
The wine also received 92-95 from Jeb Dunnuck and 94-95 from James Suckling.
Fair Value analysis
Buyers looking for value might be interested in the 2012 and 2011 vintages, which are available below £500 per case and contain several years in bottle.
Score-conscious buyers might wish to consider the 93-point 2016 vintage which costs 47.6% less than today’s release.
