As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Lynch-Bages 2021 has been released at €90 per bottle ex-négociant, the same as the 2020’s opening price.

It is being offered by the international trade for £1,020 per 12×75. The new release is among the best value wines on the market today. See more pricing analysis below.

Critics’ scores

Today’s release received 94-96 points from Neal Martin (Vinous), who called it ‘a very classy Lynch-Bages’.

Antonio Galloni awarded it 92-94 and described it as ‘a brooding wine’.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) also gave it 92-94, while William Kelley (The Wine Advocate) rated it 93-95.

Jane Anson scored it 94-points, and declared it ‘one of the best in Pauillac’.

Fair Value analysis

Today’s opening price comes at around a 9% discount to the price implied by Liv-ex’s Fair Value methodology. This makes the 2021 one of the best value vintages on the market today.

Buyers might also wish to consider the 2019, which has a higher score and comes at a 9.8% premium.

Buyers looking for value might be also interested in the 2017 and 2014 vintages, which are available below £900 per case.

Other releases

The 2021 Echo de Lynch-Bages was also released this morning at €28.80 per bottle ex-négociant. Volumes of the second wine are down 30% on last year.
