As part of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse 2021 has been released at €90 per bottle ex-négociant, unchanged on the 2020’s opening price.
It is being offered by the international trade for £1,080 per 12×75. The 2011, 2014, 2017, and 2019 vintages look better value in relation to today’s release. See more pricing analysis below.
Critics’ scores
Neal Martin and Antonio Galloni (Vinous) both released similar barrel scores for the 2021 vintage. Martin gave it a barrel range of 92-94 points saying it was ‘precise and detailed’, while Galloni scored it 92-95.
William Kelley (Wine Advocate) scored the 2021 93-95+ points and Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Independent) gave it one of her higher ratings of 92-94 points.
Fair Value analysis
Today’s opening price comes at a premium to the price implied by Liv-ex’s Fair Value methodology.
Buyers looking for value might be interested in the similarly scored 2014 and 2017 vintages, which are available at a discount.
The 2011 and 2019 vintages both have higher scores (94-points and 95-points respectively) and are likewise cheaper than today’s release.
