Marking the official start of this year’s Bordeaux En Primeur campaign, Château Batailley 2021 has been released at €26.5 per bottle ex-négociant, the same as the 2020’s opening price.
It is being offered by the international trade for £330 per 12×75. The new release is one of the best value wines on the market today.
Critics’ scores
William Kelley (Wine Advocate) scored the 2021 Batailley a barrel range of 90-92 points. He said that the wine ‘shows promise’ and that ‘it will offer a broad drinking window’.
Other major critics are yet to release their critical assessments of the wine.
Fair Value analysis
At £330 per 12×75, the new release is the most affordable Batailley on the market today.
The 2020, which is available at £334 per 12×75, also offers good value for money with 93-95 points from Neal Martin (Vinous).
Buyers might also consider the 2019, which is the highest-scored Batailley vintage with 95-points from Martin. The wine is available at 18.2% premium to today’s release.
