As discussed yesterday, the recently physical 2019 vintage from Bordeaux is catching the attention of critics, having received several 100-point scores in recent weeks.
Having recently become physically available, the trade activity around the vintage has increased markedly. As the table below shows, the 2019 vintage is already the second-most traded vintage on Liv-ex year-to-date.
Interestingly, trade is not focused purely on a select few names from top châteaux. Year-to-date, 67 wines from the vintage have traded on Liv-ex – ranging from £90 per 12×75 (Thieuley Blanc Sec 2019) to £13,916 per case (Lafleur 2019).
The table below shows the top-traded 2019 wines on Liv-ex year-to-date. Lafite Rothschild’s second wine, Carruades de Lafite 2019 is in the top spot. It last traded at £3,114 per 12×75 a 39.1% increase on its release price.
There are currently over 194 LIVE opportunities for Bordeaux 2019 wines.
