The 2020 Smith Haut Lafitte has been released for €96 per bottle ex-négociant, up 27% on the 2019 release.
The international trade is offering the wine for £1,152 per 12×75, 21.5% more than the current Market Price of the 2019.
Critical opinion
Neal Martin awarded the wine 92-94 points. He called the new release, “one of the best dry whites of the vintage.”
Antonio Galloni gave the wine 93-95 points and said, “Best of all, the 2020 will drink well pretty much upon release.”
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW awarded 94-96+ points. Jeff Leve gave 97-points and James Suckling 95-96.
Fair Value
Based on Benchmark critic scores, today’s release comes out above Fair Value.
There are a number of back vintages which carry higher critic scores and lower Market Prices with the 2016 vintage looking like the best value.
