The wine is being offered for £372 per case by the international trade. This is equal to the current Market Price of the 2019.
The new release looks Fair Value although the 2019 has a stronger score for the same price. See more Fair Value analysis below.
Critical Opinion
“The 2020 Les Pagodes de Cos has a well-defined, almost Graves-like bouquet of a mélange of red and black fruit,” said Neal Martin (89-91). He continued that it was a, “second wine that will probably drink well after one or two years in bottle”.
Fellow Vinous taster Antonio Galloni (90-92) said: “The 2020 Les Pagodes de Cos is very easy to like. Silky tannins and pretty, lifted aromatics play off a core of supple fruit.”
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW scored the wine 91-93 points. She said: “The palate is packed with crunchy black fruit flavors and dried herbs accents, supported by bags of freshness and well-managed, grainy tannins, finishing with great length and a lively skip in its step.”
Fair Value
Pagodes de Cos has a stronger correlation with age rather than score. On this basis the 2020 just comes in at Fair Value.
Buyers may wish to consider the 2019, which is the same price but with a slightly stronger score from Neal Martin.
The 2017, 2016 and 2012 vintages also represent Fair Value at present.
