- Pavie Decesse has been released at £996 (12×75) SEP.
- This is a decrease of 3.5% on its 2019 release and a discount of 4.1% on the 2019’s Market Price.
- James Suckling called the wine “pinpointed” and scored it 96-97.
The wines from Gerard Perse have been released amid a flurry of releases this morning, including Angélus, Léoville Barton and Langoa Barton.
Pavie Decesse was released at €83 per bottle ex-négociant, identical to its 2019 release. It is being offered for £996, 3.5% less than the 2019 was on release (£1,032) due to the exchange rate and 4.1% less than the 2019’s current Market Price of £1,039.
Pavie Decesse has been rated 96-97 by James Suckling who said it was, “tight and pinpointed”, while Jane Anson rated it 95, calling it: “Balanced, sleek and poised” – though adding she thought its stablemate Pavie was, “a clear step-up” this vintage.
Fair Value
With a score of 94-95 from benchmark critic Neal Martin the 2020 vintage should look well placed against its back vintages.
At anything less than that, the 2015, 2017 and 2018 will look to offer value instead.
Also out alongside it was Bellevue Mondotte at €90 per bottle ex-négociant, leading to a trade price of £1,086 (12×75) SEP.
