Chianti Classico was most recently in the news following a Wine Advocate announcement last Friday (09/04) of a new Chianti Classico sub-region, ‘San Donato’.
The San Donato sub-region represents the union of three villages: Poggibonsi, Barberino Val d’Elsa and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and can be seen in the map below.
This new sub-zone on the western edge of the region includes labels such as ‘Isole e Olena’ and Marchesi Antinori’s ‘Badia a Passignano’.
