Neal Martin awarded today’s release a barrel range of 88-90 points. He said that “the palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, quite structured and grippy, gaining more detail and precision towards a slightly earthy finish”.
James Suckling, however, gave the wine a range of 96-97 points. According to him the 2019 Petit Village is “round and velvety, yet there is firmness and tension to the texture. It’s extremely polished, as well as structured”.
Followers of Suckling will likely see value in today’s offering. The 2015 and 2017 with 90 points from Neal Martin are both available at a small discount to the 2019.
