Pavie Decesse 2019 has been released at €83 per bottle ex-negociant, down 7.8% on the 2018 release price (€90). The wine is being offered at £1,032 per 12×75, a 5.1% decrease from the 2018 release of £1,087 a case.
The Wine Advocate’s Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW awarded today’s release a barrel range of (95-97+), noting that the wine has “an intoxicating nose of plum preserves, blueberry tart, kirsch and molten chocolate […] finishing very long and fruity”. She added that the alcohol level was 14.51%. James Suckling awarded the wine a barrel range of 96-97 points.
Prices for Pavie Decesse show a 66% correlation to our ‘Benchmark critic’ series. As seen below, a barrel range of 94-95 would place today’s release on the ‘Fair Value’ line. Followers of Suckling and Perrotti-Brown could therefore find value in the 2019.
Buyers might also wish to consider the 2012 with 95+ from Neal Martin and at £908 per case.
