Gruaud Larose 2019 has just been released at €51.6 per bottle ex-negociant, down 6.5% on the 2018 opening price of €55.20. It is being offered by the international trade at £649 per 12×75, down 5.2% on the 2018’s release of £684 per case.
You can watch the UGCB presentation of today’s release here.
The wine received 95 points from Jean-Marc Quarin. Prices for Gruaud Larose are 51% correlated to ‘Benchmark Critic’ scores. Today’s release would need a barrel range of 93-94 to sit on the ‘Fair Value’ line, as seen in the chart below.
Alternatively, buyers might wish to consider the 2016 vintage, with 93 points from Neal Martin and available at £560 per case.
The Neal Martin 95-point 2010 also looks very attractive – selling at just 5% premium, despite the bottle age.
