Chapelle Mission Haut Brion 2019 has been released at €42 per bottle ex-negociant, down 30% on the 2018 (€60). The wine is being offered by the international trade at £525 per case, down 27% on the 2018 (£720).
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Advocate) awarded today’s release 92-94 points, saying that “the palate is packed with poise and sophistication, offering a gentle earthy underpinning to all that black fruit, framed by fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and spicy”.
James Suckling scored it 94-95, describing it as “delicious already with iodine, oyster shell, crushed stone and blackcurrants”.
With this price tag, today’s release is coming to the market at a discount to recent releases. For those looking for something with a bit of bottle age, the Neal Martin 91-point 2014 is available at a 19% discount to today’s release.
