Canon (Saint Emilion) 2019 has been released at €69.6 per bottle ex-négociant, down 17.1% on the 2018 released (€84). The wine is being offered by the international trade at £876 per 12×75, a 16.1% decrease on the 2018 opening price of £1044 per case.
Jane Anson (Decanter) awarded the wine 98 points, describing it as “sleek, elegant and appealing even before you get your nose near the glass”.
Jean-Marc Quarin gave a 96-97, putting it in his top 15 wines of the vintage. James Lawther (JancisRobinson.com) a 17.5+, noting, “another strong effort from this estate”.
Buyers looking for value may consider the 2014 and 2017 vintage, at 95 points from Neal Martin, they stand at a significant discount to today’s release.
