Branaire Ducru 2019 has been released at €28.2 per bottle ex négociant, down 26.6% on the 2018 release price of €38.4. The wine is being offered at £348 per 12×75, a decrease of 24.7% on the 2018 release of £462 a case.
James Suckling awarded the wine 95-96 points. He described the wine as having a “medium to full body” and was “impressive”. Jeff Leve awarded 94-96 points, explaining “the wine reached 13.7% alcohol” and the “Grand Vin was produced from 55% of the crop”.
For more information on the wine, you can view the Chateau’s vintage presentation on the Union des Grand Cru de Bordeaux’s YouTube channel, here.
The above barrel ranges suggest a wine of similar quality to the 2009 and 2010, but at a 45% and 40% discount, respectively.
Short of Neal Martin disagreeing with the scores from James Suckling and Jeff Leve, the 2019 appears to be a release of good value.
