Malartic Lagraviere 2018 has been released at €34.80 per bottle ex-negociant, up 7.4% on the 2017 release (€32.40). It is being offered by the international trade at £460 per 12×75, up 15% on the 2017 release of £399 per case.
Critical reception for the wine has been positive. James Suckling awarded the wine 93-94 points and said there was “freshness and depth”. Antonio Galloni (Vinous) scored it 92-95 points and said he “very much admire[s] the weight and substance here”.
Lisa Perotti-Brown (Wine Advocate) awarded 92-94 points, adding that “it packs in the berry preserves”. James Molesworth (Wine Spectator) gave it 92-95 points and said it had a “positive vibe”.
Malartic Lagraviere is coming to the market above a number of other recent vintages. Other options include the highly-rated 2016 is still available at its opening price, and the 2015 that is available at a slight discount to today’s release.
Malartic Lagraviere Blanc 2018 has also been released at €38.40 per bottle ex-negociant, down 5.8% on the 2017 (€40.80).
