Lascombes 2018 has been released at €54 per bottle ex-negociant, a 9.8% increase on the 2017’s opening price of €49.20. It is being offered by the international trade at £666 per 12×75, up 11% in sterling terms on the 2017 release of £600 per case.
According to Antonio Galloni (Vinous, 90-93), “the 2018 Lascombes is quite attractive in this vintage”. For James Suckling, who scored today’s release 94-95 points, “this is a dense and very structured young red with currant and citrus character”.
Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Advocate, 92-94) additionally described the wine as “full, richly fruited and laden with ripe black fruits and earthy suggestions”.
With this price tag, the 2018 stands above a number of recent vintages available in the market, as the chart above shows. Buyers might want to consider the similarly scored 2012 which is currently 14.9% cheaper.
