Gloria 2018 has been released at €28.80 per bottle ex-negociant, up 11.6% on the 2017’s opening price of €25.80. It is being offered by the trade at £346.80 per 12×75, up 10.1% on the 2017’s release of £315 per case.
The critical reception of this year’s release has been positive. James Suckling (93-94) described the wine as “framed and focused”, while Antonio Galloni (Vinous, 91-94) said Gloria was “once again fabulous”, “with tremendous energy”.
According to Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW (The Wine Advocate), the wine “has a lively line cutting through the dense, savory layers, finishing on a lingering spicy note”. She scored it a similar barrel range of 92-94 points.
The 2015 (NM, 92) and 2016 (NM, 93) might also look attractive to score-conscious buyers.
