The Bordeaux 2018 En Primeur campaign is fast approaching and much of the trade will be heading to Bordeaux to begin tasting. As always, Liv-ex will be covering the campaign as it unfolds.
Today’s post summarises everything you can expect to see on Liv-ex during this En Primeur campaign.
En Primeur report
Yesterday, we published our annual En Primeur opening report, this year called Bordeaux 2018 – Keenly poised. In it, we explore the current position of the Bordeaux market, the quality and quantity of the 2018 vintage and the importance of fair pricing amid continuing Brexit uncertainty. You can also read reports for previous campaigns on our reports page, here.
‘Fair Value’ methodology: introducing ‘Benchmark Critic’
Throughout the Bordeaux 2018 campaign we will be covering the releases as they happen and publishing daily price analysis on Liv-ex Insights. We will once again be using our ‘Fair Value’ methodology to assess the release prices and highlight any pricing anomalies in the secondary market. As a measure of quality, we have introduced a ‘Benchmark Critic’ index, comprising of the scores of Robert Parker (vintages 2005-2012), Neal Martin (vintages 2013-2017) and Lisa Perroti-Brown, Antonio Galloni and James Suckling (2018 vintage). You can find the latest update on our methodology as well as information on our ‘Benchmark Critic’ index, here.
