Chapelle Mission Haut Brion 2017 released

Chapelle Mission Haut Brion 2017 has been released at €60 per bottle ex-negociant, down 9% on the 2016 release of €66. It is expected to be offered by the trade at around £705 per 12×75, a decrease of 8% in sterling terms on the 2016 release of £770 per case.

Neal Martin (Vinous) scored the wine 87-89 points. In his tasting note he commented that it “contains fine precision, especially for a deuxieme vin”.

Other critics were also impressed. Rebecca Gibb MW (RebeccaGibb.com) noted that it was “very classy indeed” and awarded 93 points. Jane Anson (Decanter) scored the wine 92 points and commented that it was “fresh, succulent and easy to recommend”.

This year’s Chapelle Mission Haut Brion 2017 is coming to the market above a number of vintages already available. Buyers seeking value may wish to consider the higher scoring 2014, which is available at a whopping 45% discount to today’s release.
