Lynch Bages 2017 was released today at €75 per bottle ex-negociant, down 21.9% on the 2016 release (€96). It is being offered by the international trade at £885 per 12×75, a decrease of 21% on the 2016 in sterling terms (£1,120).
Critics have praised this year’s Lynch Bages. Neal Martin commented that the wine was “an approachable Lynch Bages” and awarded it 91-93 points. James Suckling scored the wine a slightly higher 95-96 points and described it as “a beautiful young wine.”
Today’s release of £885 per 12×75 places the wine at a slight discount to the price implied by Liv-ex’s Fair Value methodology. Those perusing back vintages might consider the 2014 vintage, which carries the same score and is around 9% cheaper.
Also released today was Echo Lynch Bages 2017 at €25.20 ex-negociant, down 12.5 % on the 2016 release (€28.80) and the same price as the 2015 release (€25.20).
