Beau Sejour Becot 2017 was released today at €40.8 per bottle ex-negociant, down 19% on the 2016 release’s price of €50.4. It is being offered by the international trade at £500 per 12×75, 20% below the 2016’s opening price in sterling terms (£624).
Critics have praised this year’s Beau Sejour Becot. Neal Martin (Vinous) awarded the wine 91-93 points and commented on its “fine structure and freshness”. James Molesworth (Wine Spectator) was slightly more generous and scored the wine 93-96 points. In his tasting note he described the wine as “delightfully pure”, adding that it “has length to burn”.
Followers of Neal Martin may wish to consider the higher scored 2014, which is available at a 21% discount to today’s release.
