Batailley 2017 has been offered this morning at €30.25 per bottle ex-negociant, 11% lower than the release price of the 2016 vintage (€34). It is being offered by UK merchants for £390 per 12×75, down 5.8% on the 2016’s release of £414.
Neal Martin, of Vinous, scored the wine 90-92 and noted that it is “a fine follow-up to the 2015 and 2016 and it may well land at the top of my banded score.”
Jane Anson scored the wine slightly higher at 93 points, noting in Decanter: “They are doing great work at this estate at the moment.”
The volume of this wine that has been brought to market is currently unclear.
Liv-ex members perusing back vintages might consider the 2015 vintage, which carries a 94-point score. Ten cases of 12×75 are currently available on the exchange for £391.
