Late yesterday evening UK time, Lisa Perotti-Brown released her scores for the Bordeaux 2015 vintage in bottle, her first report as the official Wine Advocate reviewer for the region.
Perotti-Brown suggests that “2015 is its own, totally unique animal”, more in the vein of 1996, 1998, 2003 and 2008, rather than universally great vintages such as 2000, 2005, 2009 or 2010. She awarded three perfect scores, to Cheval Blanc, Haut Brion and Petrus.
Perotti-Brown did not publish scores of the wine in barrel, making it difficult to track their evolution. However as she is now the official Wine Advocate scorer, her notes and scores will supersede Neal Martin’s in-barrel ranges in the publication. These have been published in the table below for reference. Martin’s in-bottle scores will be published via The Wine Advocate this time next week.
There has been a noteworthy trade of Haut Brion 2015 on Liv-ex since Perotti-Brown’s 100 point score was published. It traded at £5,550 per 12×75 this morning, 18% higher than its trade price yesterday.
James Sucking, Jane Anson and Jeb Dunnuck have already released scores for Bordeaux 2015. You can read a short summary by Liv-ex here.
