Liv-ex 100
The Liv-ex Fine Wine 100 closed September on 308.03, down 0.2% on the previous month. This is the second monthly decline for the index this year. It also fell 0.5% in April.
The top movers in September were from a variety of regions: Burgundy, Champagne, Bordeaux, and the U.S.A. Armand Rousseau Chambertin 2012 was the top riser, up 6.8%. Opus One 2013 followed close behind and was up 5.4%.
DRC, Romanee Conti 2012 was this months’ biggest faller (-9%), having been up 13.7% in August. Pape Clement 2012, one of Robert Parker’s top wines of the vintage, also drifted.
As the market focussed on the recently released and equally scored Masseto 2014, the wine’s slightly older sibling gave up some of its recent gains.
