Calon Segur 2015 was released today at €53 per bottle ex-negociant, 26.2% higher than the 2014 (€42). It is being offered by the international trade at £570 per 12×75. This is 35.7% above the 2014 release which was first offered at £420.
Neal Martin awarded the wine an in-barrel score of 91-93 and said it is “quite linear, nicely focused and reserved compared to the 2014.” James Suckling gave the wine a rating of 93-94. He described the 2015 as “very fine” and “sophisticated.”
Buyers looking for value may be attracted to some of the recent vintages. The 2014 rated at 91-93 points is available at £505. Likewise, the higher scoring 2013 offers better value with an in-barrel score of 92-94 and is available at £484.
